Precious Pages Got Us New Pinoy BL Books to Enjoy Reading!

If I had one thing I’d complain about regarding Pinoy BL’s (Boys Love Series), is that there should be more of them! We need more stories of men falling in love with men, especially here in the Philippines. Filipino Stories of the queer community from different perspectives and walks of life should be explored further. There is no limit to story-telling may it be through movies, online series, spoken word, books, and even comics! We are just at the tip of the iceberg people!

Bad at Love – Jobelle Rivera

As if Us – Albert Lang

While they say that love has no boundaries, love is a journey that’s full of stops and starts, endings and beginnings.

Kadenang Bahaghari – John Jack G. Wigley

Undercover

Written by Sera Guzman Illustrated by Tofu Lim

Andy is Andrei

Written by Claudine Erang Illustrated by Jana Shel

Tagila

Written by Claudine Erang Illustrated by Peachy Balais

Did you find a Pinoy BL Book to get Started with?

Thank you to Precious Pages for sending me this Pinoy BL Starter kit to share with everyone. I unwrapped this package like a happy little boy on Christmas Day. Let me tell you how quickly I devoured so many of these books over the long weekend because I was desperate for love stories. My lack of love life and the trauma I’ve garnered from dating has driven me to seek comfort in fiction instead. I would also like to point out that real men can never compare to men written in books. Feel free to prove wrong though… Hahaha.

At first, I thought that I would find it difficult to read books written in Tagalog, but I didn’t have trouble adjusting at all. Some of the books I was really hooked into that I almost didn’t believe how fast I was going through the pages. My favorite has got to be Bad at Love by Jobelle Rivera because I was able to deep dive into a bad boy’s head and wish I was the one he was falling for instead. I’m also enjoying As if Us by Albert Lang because your friend here loves some R18 moments, and unconventional relationships are just super interesting. The more twists and turns, the better the story gets!

Reading has become a source of comfort for me, especially when I feel trapped because of everything bad happening to our country right now. Reading books, especially books you could strongly relate to is such a great escape. It’s a totally fun adventure that can compensate for the one we just can’t physically have right now. I highly encourage you guys to go check out these books online. I’m super excited to get to reading the rest of Pinoy BL books already!

Buy Pinoy BL these books for yourselves or for your single queer friends bored and lonely in their homes. Haha. You can purchase any of these books online at the Precious eBookstore or Precious Books Shop. Precious Pages also has stores in Shopee if you want to avail discounts during the monthly sales! Enjoy reading guys and I hope you have as much gay fun as I am having! So much!!!

I personally love Ang Lihim sa Tore ng Sinagtala. It’s my first pinoy bl book. It is very well written. I like the dark and mysterious theme of the story that touches family issues, abuse, trauma, and depression. And of course, the joy of self-discovery and falling in love is always a treat.

  2. I love that companies and people are so open with these types of content. Before it has been an issue and lots of it is happening around. But at least now the society is slowly accepting the reality.

  3. Na mention sa akin ng daughter ko ito and this is my second time to have read a post about Precious Pages. Will share this to her, she will like this post for sure.

  4. Agree that the graphic designs are really good. Who would have thought it was created by a Filipino? Glad that these books cater to different interests today and looks like you enjoyed reading them!

Glad to know that reading has been of your comforting pastimes specially these days when it’s really tough to go out and socialize with people. Ako naman, I write.

Honestly, those cover pages are so nice! Who is the graphic artist?! Good cover attracts buyers talaga.

  6. It’s great to know that there are BL-themed books that are available. I think that’s a good start towards acceptance of someone’s sexual orientation.

  7. I am so glad to see how our media is coping with the change and acceptance of someone’s sexuality openly through books and publications. I think it’s the for our country to move forward and let everyone express who they are. These books will be a big talk of the town for sure.!
