Make Him to Her Challenge – I Finally did a Drag Makeover!

Yes, it finally happened and I’m so excited to share the experience with you guys!

Growing up, I was always drawn to my sister’s barbie dolls over toy cars because of well, the obvious fact that I am gay. Their luxurious hair and little tiny dresses fascinated me and I would have so much fun whenever I got to sneak around to play with them, which wasn’t really that much.

Well, that isn’t the case any longer. I’m all grown up. This gay boy is a now a man and he is not only gonna be playing with dolls, he’s gonna dress up as one himself.

Make Him to Her Challenge – Drag Makeover

That’s right. I wanted to just go ahead with the idea cause what better time than now, right? So I borrowed a dress from my friend, Angela and asked my Youtuber friend, Pamela Foronda to help me transform from Him to Her. A complete Drag Makeover from head to toe!

Pam isn’t a make-up artist, but I am so thankful she was willing to try and she did such a great job! We had so much fun doing the Make Him to Her Challenge, and she also put me on the hot seat with those playful unwarranted questions while doing my make-up. You can watch the full video below.

I just want to be a pretty girl too!

I was honestly so scared. I mean, who wants to go through all that trouble to just discover that he’ll make an ugly girl, right? Yes, we could basically do this challenge now using FaceApp, but I don’t want China owning any information about me. Like I don’t want them having rights to my face. Kidding. Hahaha. It was just more fun doing the real thing!

I know nothing about make-up, but the look I wanted was bold, strong, fierce and beautiful which I let Pam interpret however she liked. I mean she’s a pretty girl and I wanted to be pretty just like her. The dress we chose was this golden party dress cut short to feature my long legs. Pam found some green strappy heels which surprisingly fit me. I literally came alive with pure joy and excitement when we had our hands on the black long-haired wig. After we we’re done and finished put everything together, a woman was born.

Hey! You know me, it’s Mikayla Boss.

RuPaul, the creator of the cultural phenomenon that is RuPaul’s Drag Race says that “Drag doesn’t hide who you are, it actually reveals who you are”. And that was exactly right. I immediately recognized the girl standing in front of me in the mirror, like she’s always been there with me in my male body. I promise you that I felt so powerful, pretty and well, so freaking hot.

It was pretty weird that Pam had a ladder inside her room. She was actually in the middle of painting her walls on the day we were filming. What a fun coincidence! So we took that ladder and had Mikayla’s christening on it. I mean that girl was alive and on fire.

Yes, I’ve already thought of a Drag name and it’s “Mikayla Boss”. My second name is actually “Michael” which I always found to be as boring as “Christian”. And, what’s a more fun and flirtatious way of saying “Michael” than “Mikayla”, right? And I picked “Boss” as her last name because that’s what I want her to embody, a strong and powerful boss-lady who’s in charge and don’t need no man in her life! Christian definitely has a lot to learn from Mikayla.

Drag Queens rule and Women are the best!

Drag Queens are I think, one of the most beautiful and creative people out there. And I really salute them, because drag is really hard and exhausting. I was literally so tired being in hair and make up for just an hour that I crashed on my bed and slept like I fought a war somewhere. And, we didn’t even leave the room! So props to all Drag Queens out there and I hope everyone continues to support the hard work that they do.

I’ve always admired women and Drag I feel like, brings me closer to them as sisters. Most men may generally be trash, but women are totally awesome so we have to stick together, alright? Women, LGBTQ+ and other minority groups in our country and around the world face so much discrimination and stigma in society. Yes, I’m so happy that times are changing and people are growing to be more open and accepting now. But, we definitely have a lot more things to fight for. Let’s continue doing it together.

  1. Mikayla Boss! That’s a pretty iconic name and super pretty ng transformation. Saka the dress? OMG STUNNING! I have two gay sisters pero yung isa lang yung nahilig mag dress up and she’s slowly becoming a woman now. You know, taking some pills, growing her hair and stuff. I’ve always wanted to have a sister tho since only daughter ako and they’re both enough for me. We have sisters talk din eh which I really love :)♡

  2. First of all, let me say that you are beautiful no matter what. The transformation seems to be success cause girl, mas chic ka pa sa ibang girls na kakilala ko pero let’s not drop their names. Just continue doing what makes you happy, other people will judge you being like that and doing things like that, but who cares, as long as you’re not stepping into anybody go lang.
